Cut 2-inch to 4-1/2-inch hexagons from strips, or fussy cut the largest size. (Remember, we measure hexagons by the length of the finished side!) The 4-1/2-inch hexagon is approximately 7 1/4 inches across from one flat side to the other. This new tool is perfect for displaying large prints, machine embroidery, and quilting. The hexagon shape is so much more interesting than a square! Cut matching-size equilateral triangles with our 60-degree triangle rulers, Product Number 8962. See Jack's Chain and Interlocking Hexagons in Six is for Hexagons, Volume 6 of the Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks, for great quilts using larger hexagons. The largest ruler hexagon is the perfect size for Jack's Chain.
